Seed Bank

We are ambitious about what’s possible for North East seed saving. Starting small, we are building the foundations for a regional seed bank.

Our climate is changing and we need our seeds, and growing communities, to develop resilience. A place-based, community approach will advance the grow-to-save efforts needed to develop the project.

Once established, the North East Seed Bank will make good quality, locally saved seeds widely available to community growers through an accessible membership.

Thanks to funding from Hadrian Trust and Newcastle Council, the foundational phase of this project is now underway in Spring 2025.
